Are wrinkles a sign of collagen deficiency?

Asked 2 years ago

I am in my early thirties but have noticed my wrinkles become more and more prominent as I have started eating less food than I used to. Could this be because of a collagen deficiency?

Collagen is the most abundant protein in the body and it plays a crucial role in the maintenance of healthy skin, nails and hair. Collagen is responsible for maintaining the skin's elasticity and suppleness and lower levels could lead to dry, thin and wrinkled skin. This could be because you're not eating enough proteins to provide the amino acids needed for collagen production. You could try using hydrolyzed collagen for a couple of months to see if it makes a difference.
