Can you get toenail fungus from sweaty feet?

Asked 2 years ago

Good afternoon, I have a toenail fungus that has gotten worse over the past few days. I can't only think that I may have picked it up from having a problem with sweaty feet. Is this possible? If so, how am I supposed to treat it when I have to wear shoes to work?

Warm sweaty feet provide an ideal breeding ground for toenail fungus. To treat it, you can apply medicated antifungal powder to your toes then wear socks that wick sweat away. Also, ensure that you choose shoes that fit well and give your feet room to breathe. You can also use medicated creams, essential oil, or apple cider vinegar foot baths before and after work to get rid of the infection.
