Is word-finding difficulty a symptom of dementia?
Asked 2 years ago
My dad has struggled to find the right words for everyday objects like a table or a cup. Could this be dementia?

Yes it is. Having difficulty communicating your thoughts properly - or finding the right words to say - is a well documented symptom of dementia. Stopping in the middle of a sentence or being unable to finish any statements without pauses to think are symptoms of dementia.
