Which is an alternative BPH therapy?
Asked 2 years ago
Hi, I've been diagnosed with an enlarged prostate, and I'm looking for something better than TURP. How is BPH treated without medication? Are there any alternative alpha-blockers?

Natural alternatives to taking alpha-blockers for an enlarged prostate include :
- Pygeum africanum
- Stinging nettle
- Saw palmetto
- Beta-sitosterol
- Secale cereal
- Ryegrass pollen extract
These may be effective when combined with a few lifestyle changes such as cutting back or eliminating caffeine and alcohol. However, these natural or herbal alternatives can also have side effects or may interfere with other medications you're taking, so discuss this with your doctor before trying them.
