Does ejaculation reduce prostate inflammation?

Asked 2 years ago

Hello, I couldn't help but wonder whether semen might have anti-inflammatory properties and whether this might help to reduce the pain experienced by an inflamed prostate gland?

Swelling and inflammation of the prostate is known as prostatitis. Semen by itself isn't known to have anti-inflammatory properties. While sex needn't be avoided if you have an inflamed prostate, some men find that they experience pain when ejaculating. An inflamed prostate could have several causes, some of which may be serious so it's advisable to consult a doctor if you continue experiencing pain.
