Do anti-inflammatories help dementia?
Asked 2 years ago
My great-aunt has had an onset of dementia, and we were wondering whether anti-inflammatories would help slow down the progression?

Not really no. It can help prevent it as some studies say, but in terms of curing it or helping reduce its effects, anti-inflammatories are somewhat useless. NSAIDs (Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) are known through epidemiological and laboratory studies have shown that they reduce the risks associated with dementia and Alzheimer's.
