Which is better for nail fungus: Griseofulvin or Itraconazole?
Asked 2 years ago
Morning all, can I go the easy route and get the Griseofulvin skin spray OTC for my fungal infection? Or would it be better to go to the doctor and get a prescription for Itraconazole?

Both medicines are equally effective but some studies found that Itraconazole had slightly better outcomes than Griseofulvin. Additionally, Griseofulvin is recommended for use only if you've tried topical antifungal medications and they haven't worked. You should also consider that Itraconazole can potentially react with quite a few other medications so inform your doctor of any medicines you're on.
