Cognitive decline: Is the loss of sense of direction a sign?
Asked 2 years ago
My mom knew her way around the city like the back of her hand. But, these days, I find her getting lost down our street. She's 75 years old. Could this be a sign of her brain wearing down?

Yes. One of the prime signs of cognitive decline is loss of sense of direction. Not being able to properly organize yourself anymore or becoming more impulsive is among the symptoms too. Alzheimer's is a combination of many symptoms and dementia is a serious decline in a few symptoms, if its just a loss of direction it might just be a case of getting old, in which case a doctors visit will point you in the right direction.
