What percentage of DHT is blocked by Saw Palmetto?

Asked 2 years ago

My husband is experiencing hair loss, and while we are a bit skeptical, we've been researching and considering trying out Saw Palmetto for this. Apparently, Saw Palmetto blocks a certain amount of DHT, allowing hair to regrow. However, we guess that it can only be as effective as the amount it's able to block.

DHT levels were reduced by 32% in a randomized trial compared to zero effect from the placebo.

However, a study in 2012 involving a group of 100 men should also be noted: 68% of those taking finasteride showed improvement, vs. the 38% of men who showed improvement from Saw Palmetto.
