Is being absent-minded normal?

Asked 2 years ago

My daughter, who is 25 and working a full-time job as a nurse, is starting to be incredibly absent-minded. She constantly forgets where she has placed things and can never remember what we have spoken about the day before. Is this normal? I'm worried that there might be something wrong.

Absentmindedness and memory loss are quite common and get worse with age. However, your daughter is only 25 and being a nurse, perhaps something else such as stress, anxiety, depression, lack of enough sleep or exercise is to blame. It could also be down to a nutritional deficiency or medical condition. The only way to be sure is to have a chat with her and encourage her to seek medical attention if the issue persists.
