How long does it take anti-androgen medication to become effective?

Asked 2 years ago

My daughter's GP found that she has PCOS and high levels of androgen in her system, causing her to grow facial hair. He gave her an anti-androgen to treat it, and she's been taking it for about three months now with no visible improvements. How long will it take to work?

It will take roughly six months for the results to start showing. However, this varies greatly from person to person, and will also depend on the type of medication she's taking, and the dosage. We recommend speaking to your doctor to get a clearer answer to this question, that's more specific to her individual case.
