What does Alzheimer's do to a person?
Asked 2 years ago
Last night I was told that my brother had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. I'm sad, but I don't exactly know what it does or what this means for him. Can someone please enlighten me?

Alzheimer's disease—one of the worst memory disorders—is a slow and gradual progressive condition where the brain as a whole will begin to shrink or atrophy, and cells begin to slowly die off as the brain shuts down.
The symptoms show up as a decline in ability to think right or act independently, inability to speak or form the right words during sentences, and directly affects a persons ability to think or act on their own.
