What is a natural alternative to Flomax?

Asked 2 years ago

Good morning all. I've been taking Flomax for BPH. However, I am so over it. Is there a natural alternative that works the same as an alpha-blocker?

There are several natural remedies for an enlarged prostate including:

  • Pygeum africanum
  • Saw palmetto
  • Stinging nettle
  • Beta-sitosterol
  • Ryegrass pollen extract
  • Secale cereal

Keep in mind that these herbal remedies can interact with other medications you may be taking and can also cause side effects. It's important to discuss this with your doctor before trying any of these natural supplements.

The most recommended natural alternative to Flomax is a herb called Saw Palmetto which relaxes prostate muscles to relieve bladder or urinary tract issues. There is a refined version in the form of medication known as Finasteride (Proscar) which can treat things like PBH.

Yes, there are natural alpha-blockers that may be suitable alternatives for Flomax. These include Saw Palmetto -a herb that helps relax bladder muscles, easing urinary symptoms, Pygeum Africanum -a herb which slows prostate enlargement and improves urinary flow, and Secale Cereal - a plant extract that relieves nighttime urinary urgency in men. These natural remedies may have side effects or react with medication so have a chat with your doctor before taking any of them.
