Is viagra good for enlarged prostate?

Asked 2 years ago

Hi, I have been diagnosed with an enlarged prostate and sthe symproms have been driving me nuts. I keep feeling like I need to pee, yet it's a struggle to actually pee. Would it be a good idea to take viagra if I have BPH? If so, what dosage would you recommend?

Certain studies, including a Northwestern University study, have found that viagra can effectively treat some of the symptoms caused by an enlarged prostate. Viagra was found especially effective in treating erectile dysfunction and impotence by directing more blood flow to the penis and helping a man get and sustain an erection. If you're considering taking Viagra for an enlarged, it's advisable to consult with your doctor beforehand.

Is viagra good for an enlarged prostate? Actually yes, however it might not be the best solution as viagra is well known for its affects, so talk to your doctor to see if its the best solution first. If your doctor decides to, you may be prescribed alpha blockers like Hytrin, Flomax, Rapaflo or Minipress among many others.

Viagra is sometimes prescribed to treat impotence in those who have an enlarged bladder (BPH) and the recommended dosage is 25 to 100mg daily with those above 65 starting off at 25mg. Taking alpha-blockers such as tamsulosin and terasozin is one of the fastest ways to shrink an enlarged prostate although you can't take viagra with tamsulosin as this may cause severe side effects.
