Asked 2 years ago
I have been experiencing skin inflammatory disorder and I started taking Vitamin A to see whether it would make a difference. However, I've now started experiencing hair loss at an alarming rate. Could I be taking too much Vitamin A?

Yes, in some cases, overconsumption or over-supplementation of vitamin A can lead to hair loss. Vitamin A is stored in the body's fat cells and can quickly accumulate to cause toxicity when too much is taken. Hair loss caused by vitamin A is reversible using intravenous fluids or diuretics to help your body flush out or process the excess stored vitamin. To really know if it's the culprit, you should get checked out by a doctor.
