Can Ginkgo Biloba cause allergic reactions?
Asked 2 years ago
My daughter has an inflamed scalp and needs to start taking a natural supplement for her hair loss, but she gets an allergic reaction (a rash) quite often from medications. How likely is it that the Ginkgo Biloba supplements will do the same?

Yes, while ginkgo biloba is effective for hair regrowth, it can, unfortunately, cause a skin rash, among other side effects. These can go from minor to serious, depending on the individual. This includes allergic reactions characterized by skin inflammation and rashes, redness, hives, blistering, a stinging sensation and swelling. If your daughter experiences any of these, she should stop taking the ginkgo biloba and see a doctor.
