How do I know if I have high blood cholesterol?
Asked 2 years ago
My family has a history of high blood cholesterol. I have decided to take monitoring my health more seriously because I want to avoid the diagnosis myself. How exactly will I know if I have high blood cholesterol?

High blood cholesterol by itself doesn't have any symptoms. However, high blood cholesterol increases your risk of getting a stroke, high blood pressure, chest pain or developing coronary heart disease. The only way to know for sure if your blood cholesterol is higher than normal is to get a blood test done. Since you have a family history of high blood cholesterol, you should have your cholesterol checked regularly.
