The first step to regulating high blood cholesterol is by changing his diet to reduce saturated fats and trans fats and to include foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids and high in fiber. He can include more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, pulses and nuts while avoiding refined grains. Additionally, he should aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise daily, bring his weight within the recommended range and reduce smoking or alcohol intake.
